Top Ten Tuesday: Fall Covers

TTT-NEW

Top Ten Tuesday was created by The Broke and the Bookish in June of 2010 and was moved to That Artsy Reader Girl in January of 2018. It was born of a love of lists, a love of books, and a desire to bring bookish friends together.

This week’s topic is fall themed books.  I’m going to be lazy and go strictly with cover colors from my TBR:

There it is.  My arrangement of Fall colored covers.  Have you read any of these?  Are there any I should prioritize?

  1. Dang that be pretty! I have read 7 of these. Of course I loved the GRRM books. I also read the dog book, firebird, odd thomas, boy on the bridge, and the crystal cave. Besides the GRRM books I loved boy on the bridge best. Odd Thomas is another good one but I have to admit that I never finished the series. I wish I would have treated it as a standalone. Arrrr!

  2. I know you just picked books on your TBR, but this looks like a pinterest board– it’s so pretty! I’ve only read 2 of these books, and of those two, I’d recommend The Diviners. Though I never continued on with the series… I need to give it a reread to do so, I think.

    • Awesome! I’ve heard lots of good things about The Diviners (maybe from you?).

And thank you! I know it’s a pretty simple post but I enjoyed making it and was proud of the result!

  3. Ahhhhhh this just makes me so happy!! I love these colors and I see books I’ve loved and books I want to read. I just got a surprise copy of Black Leviathan so that’s one I hope to read soon.

  4. You’re right to be proud of this post – I think you’ve created such a beautiful effect with this blazing bonfire of book covers! I’ve only read a few… The Boy on the Bridge is a brilliant book, but do read The Girl With All the Gifts first – and wait until you’re in a good place because both are quite gruelling reads, though absolutely engrossing. Queenslayer is the fifth in the Spellslinger series, which is a cracking coming of age series with a real difference. I love George R.R. Martin’s writing, but can’t get on with A Song of Ice and Fire – got halfway through A Storm of Swords and the book went flying across the room when one too many of the characters I loved died… Though I do love the TV series, as it happens. But if I had to recommend one of the books in that glorious bonfire of yours, it’s The Goneaway World – an extraordinary book… I read it years ago and it lives with me still.

    • Ahh so cool to see an endorsement for Gone-Away World!! I read Harkaway’s Gnomon and thought it was difficult but also brilliant. So I’m sometimes surprised I don’t see his stuff come up more often.

And I love the Spellslinger series- they are so much fun. I think I’ve only read 2 of them so far, or maybe three? But I’ve liked them all.

  6. Oh this is so visually satisfying!! Gorgeous!

I’ve only read The Diviners and Odd Thomas and I highly recommend both! I’m a big Dean Koontz fan. And Thomas is an unforgettable character!

    • Haha- I tried really hard, lining them all up in the order I wanted them and such. And I hope you enjoy the books! I’m also glad I’m not the only one who hasn’t read them. I did read the first, and it stuck so closely to the show I lost a little of the motivation to read them. (That and the fact that the series remains unfinished.)
